Secretary General of OAE discussed with Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan, and APTERR Secretariat in Tokyo
On February 18, 2025, Mr. Chantanon Wannakejohn, Secretary General of the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE), as the APTERR council , along with Ms. Hirunya Srasom, Director of the International Agricultural Economics Division attended the meeting with Mr. Kenichi Hirano, Director of the Grain Trade and Operation Division from MAFF Japan and also Dr. Choomjet Kanjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat.
The meeting discussions focused on a proposal from MAFF Japan inviting Thailand to become the regional hub for the storage of pre-cooked rice under the Rice Storage Hub Project (RSHP) of APTERR. This initiative aims to assist member countries affected by natural disasters, emergencies, and for humanitarian crises, while also enhancing regional food security.
